Four parts of a practical restaurant system
The counter is where staff review orders and complete bills. Captain phones let staff enter table orders on the dining floor. A KOT printer provides a paper instruction for preparation. A kitchen display gives the team a shared view of open tickets. DeccanPro brings these workflows together, with optional arrival sounds and spoken order details.
Not every restaurant needs every device on day one. A small counter can start its evaluation with ordering, kitchen tickets and billing. A larger dining room should test the captain route and screen placement as well.
Draw the connections before buying hardware
Mark the counter, kitchen, tables, router and available power points on a simple floor sketch. Note walls or separate floors between the captain and the restaurant server. Ask which devices connect by cable and which rely on Wi-Fi. The kitchen screen must be readable from the place where people actually work.
For a local setup, the core application and database can run on a shop computer or local server. Captain devices still need a working connection to that server. A cloud-server connection and online services need internet. Local operation does not remove the need for power, backups or a functioning restaurant network.
Run an acceptance test with the whole team
Use one table and a short sample menu. Let a captain place the order, let the cook find it on paper or screen, and let the cashier close it. Repeat with an extra item and a cancellation. Record what each person sees, including whether a kitchen ticket remains visible after printing.
The DeccanPro software plan is ₹6,000 per year with no limits, no setup fees and no hidden charges. Confirm the equipment you already own and any purchasing needs separately during planning. Bring the floor sketch to a Chennai demo rather than buying devices before compatibility is checked.
PUT IT INTO PRACTICE
Your checklist
- Counter computer and server location identified
- Captain connection tested across the dining floor
- Kitchen print and display checked together
- Backup owner and recovery procedure discussed
