One order, with food and drinks ready at different times
Chennai Metro Rail names Kora Food Street among the landmarks for Thirumangalam station entrances A1 and A2. This gives a local reference for arranging a visit; it is not a claim that any named venue uses DeccanPro. Our original illustration combines a symbolic Metro entrance with food-street awnings, rather than reproducing a particular business. Share your restaurant’s street address and entrance when arranging an onsite demonstration.

Build two orders with different preparation needs
Use fictional training orders, with no actual cooking required. Order A contains two uthappams at Rs.90 each and two coffees at Rs.25 each, for an item subtotal of Rs.230. Order B contains only one coffee at Rs.25. Keep the two saved references separate. Give one team member the food role and another the drinks role. These roles are a manual rehearsal arrangement, not a promise of automatic item-level kitchen routing.
Make the drinks ready first
Use paper markers to represent all three coffees being ready while both uthappams are still pending. Ask the counter to describe each order. Order B has its single item ready; order A has two drinks ready and two food items outstanding. A drinks operator saying “coffee ready” does not identify which order can be handed over. Require the saved reference and current item quantities in the handoff. Record how the demonstrated ticket or display helps staff identify the outstanding work.
Choose an explicit partial-service procedure
For a seated guest, your restaurant may serve drinks before food. For a takeaway guest, you may choose to collect everything together. Agree which case the rehearsal represents. If order A’s two coffees are served early, record that through the supported workflow or an agreed manual check, so the final handoff does not supply two more coffees. Do not assume partial collection, course staging or per-item ready buttons exist without a demonstration. The key test is that the incoming staff member can explain what remains to be supplied.
Check the complete order before collection
When the two uthappam markers are ready, compare them with order A’s saved record. If nothing was handed over earlier, the collection should contain two uthappams and two coffees. If the coffees were served earlier, the remaining handoff is two uthappams. The total ordered quantities still remain two and two, with a Rs.230 item subtotal before configured adjustments. Compare quantities first, then the payment record. Food being ready does not prove payment was received, and a paid bill does not prove every item was collected.
Introduce a handover between the two stages
Change the person at the collection counter after drinks are ready but before food is ready. Ask the incoming operator to retrieve A and B, identify anything already served, and name the remaining items without relying on the outgoing person’s memory. Record unclear references or missing instructions. Correct one observed gap and repeat the same two orders. This is a staff acceptance exercise; it does not establish production capacity, automatic station coordination or a delivery-platform integration.
Bring a Thirumangalam demo brief
Bring your actual menu, the places where food and drinks are prepared, and the way customers collect orders. Identify whether you need table service, parcels or both. Test the KOT and kitchen display from each working position, then compare the counter’s final record. Visits are arranged with the Chennai team at your restaurant; this page does not represent a DeccanPro branch inside the Metro station or a food court.
