YOUR RESTAURANT · YOUR PART OF CHENNAI

Restaurant billing software in Perumbakkam.

When one takeaway order fills more than one bag, a correct bill is only part of the handoff. Use this Perumbakkam restaurant exercise to check the order reference, bag count and collection record before food leaves your counter.

Keep a multi-bag restaurant order together at collection

The Tamil Nadu State Wetlands Authority’s Ramsar information sheet places Perumbakkam southwest of Pallikaranai Marsh. That wetland setting inspires our original illustration of water, reeds and birds. It is a neighbourhood reference, not a restaurant location or a route map. When arranging a DeccanPro visit, share the restaurant’s own street, entrance and map pin; do not use the marsh as a collection or meeting point.

Local reference: Tamil Nadu State Wetlands Authority: Pallikaranai Marsh Ramsar information sheet, page 3. Use the restaurant exercises below with your own menu.

Start with one reference and a written packing plan

Create practice order A with three meal parcels and two separately packed side dishes. Use empty containers or paper labels for training. Decide how your restaurant would divide the five items across two bags: bag 1 contains the three meals, bag 2 contains the two sides. Write A on both practice labels and number them 1 of 2 and 2 of 2. The label plan is an operating exercise; ask the demonstrator whether your intended setup prints suitable labels or needs a separate packing sheet.

Distinguish two orders with the same bag count

Create practice order B with two different dishes, also divided into two bags. Place the labelled sample bags in your intended collection space. Have someone who did not pack them find all of A using its order reference. “Two bags” or a customer’s first name alone is not enough to distinguish the orders. The person handing over A should match both labels to the same order and identify the three meals and two sides on its current record.

Recheck the bags after a late addition

Before collection, add one more side dish to A through the supported ordering process. Its final contents are now three meals and three sides. Decide whether the addition fits in bag 2 or requires a third bag under your restaurant’s packing procedure. Update every bag-count label if the count changes. Check the kitchen instruction, bill quantities and packed contents together; an extra item on screen does not prove that someone put it into the bag.

Hand over only after the collection check

Ask a second staff member to act as the collector and provide the agreed reference. Have the counter operator find the correct order, confirm payment status through your agreed process, count all its bags and record the handoff. Use fictional details in the demo. Keep address and phone details out of publicly visible practice labels; discuss where staff need that information if your own delivery arrangement requires it. This exercise does not promise delivery tracking, courier integration, automatic labels or proof-of-delivery functionality.

Test an interruption before calling the procedure ready

Pause the exercise after bag 1 is identified but before the other bag is collected. Let another operator take over using the packing sheet and current order record. They should be able to say what remains, without marking the whole order as handed over or preparing the food again. Record any missing information on your shift handover worksheet. For a Perumbakkam demo, bring your real menu, blank packaging labels and collection procedure. DeccanPro software costs ₹6,000 per year with unlimited use and no setup fees; equipment and consumables are planned separately.

Prepare your Perumbakkam demo

  • Two practice orders with distinct references
  • Bag numbers linked to the same order reference
  • Item counts compared with packed contents
  • A late addition reflected in quantities and bag labels
  • Payment confirmation separate from the food handoff
  • Another operator able to identify any uncollected bag
