Run a timed lunch-order rehearsal
Chennai Metro lists Thousand Lights as a station and provides station retail information. Use the station or your own street landmark to clarify the meeting location, then provide the restaurant entrance and floor. Metro proximity alone does not tell us your customer mix or busiest service period; share your actual order pattern.
Local reference: Chennai Metro: Thousand Lights. Use the restaurant exercises below with your own menu.
Build a ten-order test from yesterday’s menu
Choose ten representative orders without customer personal information. Mix single dishes, meals and drinks in the proportions your restaurant actually sells. Enter them in the same sequence as a normal rush and record when each becomes visible to the kitchen. Use a stopwatch to compare your own repetitions; do not treat the exercise as a guaranteed product speed claim.
Give the collection counter an unambiguous reference
Two guests may order the same lunch. Ask the team to match the bill, KOT and ready parcel using the order reference rather than the dish name alone. Include a guest returning to collect an earlier order while a newer order is being entered. Decide who calls the reference and who confirms collection before the next service starts.
Rehearse the changed lunch before the rush
Replace one dish after the first kitchen instruction has been sent. Check what the cook sees and what remains on the customer bill. If preparation has already started, software cannot make the food disappear: agree a staff handover step and how the correction will be recorded. A kitchen display or voice announcement should support that communication, not replace acknowledgement.
Prepare the site visit around your service window
Send your operating hours, the quieter demo window, kitchen location and counter equipment details. If the restaurant is upstairs, include floor and access instructions. DeccanPro’s Chennai team visits by arrangement; daily contact hours are 9 AM–6 PM. Confirm the appointment rather than assuming immediate attendance during lunch.
