Bring the actual name, portion and price of a special you serve. Ask how it is entered and made available in your intended setup. Print or display a sample order and check that staff can distinguish it from similar regular dishes.
Review the last available portion
Use a supervised exercise where the kitchen tells the cashier the special is no longer available. Demonstrate the supported menu update and staff communication. Do not assume automatic stock-based availability unless your required process is shown.
Keep the earlier order traceable
After the menu change, review an order already entered for the special. Compare its recorded items with the final bill. Ask the operator to explain what should happen if the restaurant cannot fulfil it, including the kitchen handover and customer communication.
