Keep a delivery address change separate from the kitchen order

Set up a delivery exercise with fictional details

Choose one practice order: two meals at fictional Rs.100 each, giving a food subtotal of Rs.200 before any configured adjustments. Use a training destination marked Entrance A and a paper parcel containing two dish cards. Keep the actual order reference on the exercise sheet. Use fictional contact details, and do not send a rider or contact a real customer. This is a staff-process rehearsal, not a claim that DeccanPro includes a delivery-routing application.

Confirm the change before promising a new destination

Have a colleague playing the customer request Entrance B before the parcel leaves. The staff member should establish which order is being discussed and confirm the full destination, entrance and callback contact privately. A familiar landmark alone is not a complete address. Check whether the restaurant serves the new destination, whether the promised time changes and whether any delivery charge needs agreement. Do not infer distance or a delivery promise from this page’s illustration.

Update the delivery instruction without repeating preparation

Ask the demonstrator where the restaurant should keep the current delivery instruction in its supported setup. If the POS does not provide a suitable field, use the restaurant’s controlled dispatch sheet alongside the order reference. Clearly supersede Entrance A and have the dispatcher acknowledge Entrance B. The food quantity remains two meals. An address correction should not become another kitchen preparation request; inspect any tickets produced during the demonstrated procedure.

Reconcile the food subtotal and the agreed delivery charge

In the exercise, suppose the original agreed delivery charge was Rs.20 and the revised charge is Rs.30. With no other adjustments, the expected total changes from Rs.220 to Rs.230 while the food subtotal remains Rs.200. These are fictional training amounts, not DeccanPro delivery rates. Demonstrate the supported charge and payment-adjustment process with the authorised person. If the order was already paid, record how the Rs.10 difference will be handled; do not assume an address edit automatically collects it.

Read back the latest instruction at dispatch

Ask a different staff member to perform the final handoff. They should identify the order reference, two meals, Entrance B and the current payment position using the agreed records, without being told the answer. Keep customer contact and address details away from public collection displays. If the rider has already left in a second rehearsal, stop normal dispatch and use the restaurant’s direct communication procedure to confirm receipt of the changed instruction. Record who acknowledged it and when; a note saved at the counter does not prove the rider saw it.
