One clear handover from cafe counter to collection
Elliot’s Beach is associated with Besant Nagar, and the Schmidt Memorial is a familiar part of its seafront. Our illustration uses the memorial as the local visual anchor. It does not represent a customer restaurant or an endorsement by a landmark operator.
Local reference: Incredible India: Chennai. Use the restaurant exercises below with your own menu.
Avoid calling only the drink name
Prepare two identical drink orders and a snack order. Ask the counter team to identify each using its order reference. If a customer steps away and returns, the team should still be able to locate the correct order without restarting the billing process.
Try a visual check alongside a voice alert
Demonstrate kitchen voice announcements with the kind of background sound normally present in your restaurant. Then ask the staff member to read the source order on the chosen display or ticket. A missed announcement should not leave them with no way to identify the required dish.
Keep takeaway and seated service understandable
Enter a seated table order while a parcel is being packed. Confirm the kitchen and cashier can distinguish the two. Write a short collection procedure that includes checking the reference and contents, particularly when drinks and food are prepared separately.
